Inside the Police Reports: Bruising on Victim's Neck and Body Leads to Boyfriend's Arrest
Staff at Eastside Medical suspected battery after man brought unconscious girlfriend to emergency room for a seizure.
Earlier this month, personnel at Eastside Medical called Gwinnett Police to report suspected battery. Â
The victim was initially transported to the hospital by her boyfriend, who claimed she had a seizure. Â When staff observed bruising on her arms, legs and neck, they spoke with the victim who confirmed her boyfriend had assaulted her.
When police arrived, a nurse informed them that the bruising around the victim's neck was fresh and consistent with someone placing pressure around her neck, according to a Gwinnett Police incident report.Â

The victim stated that she and her boyfriend had been arguing all weekend while they were away on vacation. Â The boyfriend was married to someone else, and the victim threatened to make his wife aware of their relationship.
They had been having an affair for seven months.

It was after the threat that he began to physically abuse her. Â She woke up in the morning and observed her boyfriend sitting at the foot of the bed, visibly upset. Â He began to choke her and a struggled ensued.
The victim kicked the suspect between the legs to break free from his grasp. Â After the kick, the suspect pushed her into a chair, at which point the victim lost consciousness.
She woke up in the hospital and was treated for a seizure.Â
Police requested that the suspect stay and be questioned by officers, but he fled the scene. Â
