Local Students to Show Work at Atlanta's Dogwood Festival
Brookwood High will showcase four pieces.

Among more than 100 art pieces on display during this yearβs Atlanta Dogwood Festival this coming weekend, visitors will find many produced by Gwinnett County students.
The Atlanta High School Art Exhibition will feature 107 pieces, of which 41 are the creations of Gwinnett County students. In fact, the work of Parkview High 10th grader Camille Pettit, titled βLaura,β earned the βBest of Showβ honor.

Camilleβs artwork and 40 other pieces from Gwinnett students will be on exhibit at Piedmont Park during the Annual Dogwood Festival, April 19-21, 2013.
In addition to the "Best of Show" honor, several other Gwinnett student creations earned high accolades from festival judges. Those pieces of art and the students who created them are as follows:

- Elizabeth Williams, 11 grader from Norcross High, Honorable Mention for βPretty Feetβ (Teacher: Ashley Getz)
- Malaak Ali, 12 grader from Norcross High, Honorable Mention for βOrbitβ (Teacher: Kimberly Landers)
- Brandon Kim, 11 grader from Peachtree Ridge High, Honorable Mention for βSuper 8β( Teacher: Joseph McSpadden)
- Lauren Burrows, 12 grader from Mill Creek High, Honorable Mention for βBluβ (Teacher: Vicki Gladden)
In all, art enthusiasts can view the creations by students from 11 Gwinnett schools, including:

- Collins Hill High, six pieces
- Duluth High, one piece
- Grayson High Technical Education Program, three pieces
- Lanier Hig, one piece
- Mill Creek High, four pieces
- Norcross High, eight pieces
- North Gwinnett High, six pieces
- Parkview High students, five pieces
- Peachtree Ridge High, three pieces
- Phoenix High, once piece
