• Gwinnett Fire arrest two following Tuesday business fire (monroelocal.org) — Fire crews rushed to a commercial fire at Mavis Tires & Brakes on Centerville Rosebud Road in Snellville, where a detached garage burned and part of the structure collapsed. Centerville Rosebud Road was briefly closed while firefighters battled the blaze and secured hazards like a downed power line. Investigators ruled the fire incendiary, and two adult men have now been charged as the probe continues. 
• Thieves target Snellville businesses overnight New Year's Day (11alive.com) — Several small businesses in a Snellville shopping center on Centerville Rosebud Road started New Year’s Day cleaning up shattered glass and stolen cash after overnight break-ins. Thieves hit Italian Pie, Touchdown Wings, and Subway within minutes, and investigators believe the same crew may be tied to other Gwinnett County break-ins. Despite the damage, Italian Pie reopened quickly, improvising to keep serving customers.
