Gwinnett Police are looking for two suspects in the Sunday incident in the parking lot of the Centerville Highway store.

Gwinnett Police are looking for two suspects who allegedly fired several gunshots at a fleeing vehicle Sunday afternoon in the parking lot of a Centerville Highway Quik Trip.

An innocent bystander pumping gas nearby was shot in the foot, police said. He was taken to Gwinnett Medical Center with a non-life-threatening injury.

The shots erupted around 6:30 p.m. Sunday directly in front of the store, sending witnesses to seek cover in the nearly full parking and gas-pumping areas. The gas station is located at 3490 Centerville Highway in unincorporated Snellville.

  • Other: Left-handed

Pihera said in a news release the driver of a white Dodge Journey approached a silver passenger car and appeared to be havingΒ a conversation with people in the second car before the shooting started.

β€œThe suspect (at the passenger side window) pulls out a handgun from his pocket and begins to fire in the direction of the silver car,” Pihera said in the news release. β€œThe passenger of the white Dodge (who originally walked away), then runs back toward the Dodge and also opens fire on the silver car as it was fleeing the parking lot.”

The suspects chased after the silver car as it exited the parking lot, then got into the white Dodge, which was being driven by someone from inside the vehicle.

Pihera there may have been two other suspects in the Dodge; their descriptions were not known.

The Dodge has since been recovered.
