Take a Trip This Labor Day on One Tank of Gas
Have fun this long weekend without breaking the bank on gas. Check out these five great trip ideas just a short drive from Snellville.

1. AthensΒ β Thereβs more to do in Athens than just cheer on the Dawgs. It's just about an hourΒ driveΒ from Snellville, and you can easily get there and back on one tank of gas. Check out theΒ Georgia Museum of Art.Β Or tour one of the cityβs manyΒ historic houses. When your day is done, dine at one of Athens many delicious restaurants. 2. Chattanooga, TNΒ β Chattanooga is just over two hours away. Start your day early or plan to stay over because your day will be packed with fun activities. Check out theΒ Chattanooga ZooΒ or the popularΒ Tennessee Aquarium. For nature enthusiasts, enjoy the great outdoors atΒ Rock CityΒ orΒ Ruby Falls.Β
3. Greenville, SCΒ β Just over two hours away, thereβs something for all ages in Greenville. TheΒ Childrenβs Museum of the UpstateΒ is the 10th largest childrenβs museum in the world. If you like cars, visit theΒ BMW ZentrumΒ where you can see classic cars and learn about the car makerβs history. The Zentrum is free, but you can also get a tour of the BMW manufacturing plant for a charge.
4.Β HelenΒ β Adults can go and taste new wines at theΒ Habersham WineryΒ orΒ Frogtown Cellars. Little girls (and grown women too)Β will love a visit to Babyland General Hospital, the birthplace of theΒ Cabbage Patch KidsΒ in nearby Cleveland. And donβt forget to make a visit to the old German town. You can get to Helen in about an hour and a halfΒ from Snellville.
5. Lake Hartwell, SC -Β Straddling the Georgia/South Carolina line is thisΒ gem of a lake. The drive will take about an hour and 50 minutes. Enjoy fishing, boating, and swimming on the lake. You can also hike the scenic trails, go bird watching and enjoy a picnic and more. A campground is also on site.
