Witts Suspends Re-Election Campaign

Snellville Mayor Pro Tem Tom Witts has announced that he is suspending his re-election campaign following the death of his daughter. 

"I am suspending all campaign and political activity until further notice," he wrote in an email to Snellville Patch.

His daughter, Kelly Witts Murphy, passed away Sunday (Sept. 22) after her battle with lung cancer in Scranton, Pa. She was 38.

Witts also lost his stepson, Rick McGranahan, 41, in March this year from complications from diabetes.
