Cultures of Suwanee Kicks Off 2013 Event Season
The event is a product of the Studio 1 program at North Gwinnett High.

Suwanee's 2013 event season goes into high gear Saturday, and perhaps appropriately, with a student-led program that focuses on the city's various cultures.
Cultures of Suwanee is led by the Studio I program from North Gwinnett High School, according to a city news release and the event website. Seven North Gwinnett students are spearheading the event, which runs from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Town Center Park.
According to the website, the event will "bring together the different cultures, to unite for one cause, and that is to help understand the connection of cultures. Â ... This is simply to help people understand that diversity is what helps the world stay in balance."

Students themselves have set the budget for the event, as well as coordinated various aspects with City Hall officials and private vendors that will be participating.
A blog post on the Cultures of Suwanee website details some of the coordination.

" ... people like the Suwanee day and Taste of Suwanee coordinators who gave us a few "tricks of the trade" to help us out since this is our first year. We hope to see you at Cultures of Suwanee. Lets Get Together!"
Also, the students have set up a Cultures of Suwanee Facebook page for the event.
