The memorial bench, white oak tree and plaque that have been placed on the walkway between White Oak Elementary and Lanier Middle School in memory of Jake Prince and Griffin Prince. We are so grateful to the Gwinnett Chamber of Commerce, the faculty and staff of the schools, and all those who donated their time and resources to this wonderful project. Love, the Prince family.

The brothers were killed in June 2012 in a boating accident on Lake Lanier. The late youths attended the schools. Their memorial service was held in July in Suwanee.

The accident that killed the Prince brothers was among the incidents on Lake Lanier that inspired new legislation in the Georgia General Assembly. Senate Bill 136 would lower the legal limit for Boating Under the Influence to 0.08 grams, the same as for drivers. The bill is awaiting Gov. Nathan Deal's signature.
