Gwinnett Police are warning residents in Suwanee and Sugar Hill about "suspicious males" and a white van seen in these areas.

According to an announcement Thursday (May 2), Gwinnett Police said "separate incidents that are similar in nature" have occurred in the Hedgerows subdivision near Camp Branch Road, and in the Vanderbilt subdivision off Level Creek Road near North Gwinnett High (which is in unincorporated Suwanee). Suwanee Police also have received word of similar incidents.

Two males in the white van with two males (according to witnesses, one appeared to be Hispanic and one appeared to be white) asked several children if they needed a ride home, the bulletin said. The children ran inside their homes and told parents, who then contacted police.

Gwinnett Police ask that anyone who sees anything suspicious, such as vehicles driving slowly through neighborhoods, unknown adults stopping to talk to children, etc., call 911. Officers emphasize that they would rather respond to a call that turns out to be a false alarm than to find out after the fact that someone witnessed something and did not report it when they saw it.
