Suwanee Council Member 'Excited' and 'Pleased' by New Pope

Foster reacts to the announcement that Pope Francis will lead the world's Catholics.

Add Suwanee Council Member Dan Foster to those in the area who approve of the Catholic Church's new worldwide leader.

"As a devoted Catholic, I am very excited that we have a new leader, Pope Francis 1," Foster said Wednesday (March 13) by email after the news broke about Jorge Mario Bergoglio of Argentina being named pope.

"He took the name of the Saint who was devoted to the poor. I am also very pleased that he comes from a non-European country. I see that his origin will influence a renewal of the Catholic faith in many countries, including the U.S."
