Suwanee Police Invite Residents For Coffee, Pizza, Conversation

Coffee with a Cop and Pizza with Police will be held in October.

SUWANEE, GA – In an effort to improve communication, gain trust, and build relationships, Suwanee Police Chief Mike Jones, Captain Cass Mooney and Captain Shane Edmisten invite the residents of the City of Suwanee to join them for two different events in early October.

Once again, the Suwanee Police will host Coffee with a Cop on Wednesday, Oct. 3 from 8 - 10 a.m. at Famous Toastery in Suwanee as part of National Coffee with a Cop Day. Additionally, Pizza with Police will be on Tuesday, Oct. 9 from 6 - 8 p.m. at the Suwanee Police Station at 373 Buford Highway. This event is for the entire family, and will feature free pizza from Papa John, giveaways, and officers and police vehicles on-hand for children to explore.

RSVPs are not required for either event. Citizens are invited to have a cup of joe or a slice of pizza, discuss issues that concern them or questions they may have, and just get to know the officers who keep our city safe.

β€œIt’s important for our officers to be out in the community when we are not involved in traditional police work,” said Chief Jones. β€œIt’s a unique opportunity to discuss what is going on in both the department and the community, as well as build relationships with the people we serve.”
