Tripp Halstead Hospitalized; Pizza Huts in Suwanee in Fund-Raiser

The Winder toddler is back in the hospital.

After being home for just three days, Tripp Halstead, a Winder toddler critically injured in October when a tree limb weighing several hundred pounds fell and struck him in the head, has been hospitalized so doctors can monitor his liver enzymes.

And fund-raising efforts are being conducted in and around Suwanee by area Pizza Hut locations.

Tripp was transported via ambulance Monday morning, according to a post on the Facebook page where his family provides updates on his condition. His mother, Stacy Halstead, posted a couple hours later that Tripp had undergone X-rays and lab tests and was preparing for an ultrasound.

"So basically we are here for observation and more blood tests tomorrow," Stacy Halstead wrote in an update about 9 p.m. Monday. "If his liver enzymes go down or stay the same I think they will send us home, if they go up, we have a problem and will be here a while."
