Uptown Grille Plans an April 15 Opening in Suwanee
New restaurant will open in the former Olde Towne site in Town Center.
The Suwanee restaurant scene, which took a sharp downturn at the end of 2012, is about to get another entry.
The Uptown Grille plans to open April 15 in the former Olde Towne site in Town Center. The new ownership received approval of its alcoholic beverage license at Tuesday's City Council meeting.
Owner Karim Sadruddin said the new eatery would be "casual upscale," and patterned after the Cheesecake Factory. A new chef has been brought in from the Chateau Elan resort in Braselton.

Olde Towne Tavern & Grille closed in December in a bankruptcy proceeding. Also shutting down about that time were Moondance Restaurant & Lounge and Cafe Gourmandises.
Also planning to open soon in Suwanee is Friends Sports Grill, in the former Corralejo site near Town Center.
