Woofstock Heads for Suwanee Again

The annual dog extravaganza is scheduled for Saturday in Town Center Park. Live music also is planned.

Animal planet? You got it. People can come too.

Woofstock, the extravaganza that features events chiefly aimed at dogs, is planned for Town Center Park in Suwanee on Saturday. Hours are 12-7 p.m., according to a city news release.

The event will include dog exhibitions, pet contests, live music, inflatables for children, and vendors galore, including pet adoption and rescue groups.

Admission is free. Cats, birds, and ferrets also are welcome; all animals must be on a leash.

Events include such things as largest dog, smallest dog, and owner/pet lookalike contest. Live music will include Departure, a Journey tribute band, and the Dave Matthews Tribute Band.

The event is co-sponsored by Star 94 Radio in Atlanta.

  • smallest dog contest, 12:30 pm
  • Frisbee dog exhibition, 2 pm
  • Frisbee dog workshop, 2:20 pm
  • biggest dog contest, 2:30 pm
  • music: Departure, 3 pm
  • protection, flash obedience, & high jumping exhibition, 4 pm
  • pet/owner look-alike contest, 4 pm
  • music: Gareth Asher, 4:30 pm
  • protection, flash obedience, & high jumping exhibition, 5 pm
  • music: The Dave Matthews Tribute Band, 6 pm
