School bus dropoff reveals growing number of kids living in Thomasville motels (wtxl.com) — Dozens of Thomasville children are currently growing up in motel rooms, with around 40 kids living at the Red Roof Inn on U.S. 19 due to evictions, rising rents, and strict housing requirements. Neighbors and local groups are responding with food, supplies, and paid shelter nights, while a December 23rd outreach event aims to bring toys, clothing, and resources directly to affected families.
   

2. My Side of the Story- Week 11 (timesenterprise.com) — Thomasville Center for the Arts is preparing a major public art experience for spring 2026, with quilt installations planned across downtown from April 2 to June 2. The diary, written by teenager Henrietta Eugenia Vickers Armstrong, offers vivid details of pre–Civil War life in Thomasville and South Georgia, from travel and social activities to local support for Confederate volunteers and the “Dixie Boys” flag.
   

4. Colonial Dames 17th Century bestow Community Service Award (timesenterprise.com) — A local chapter of the National Society Colonial Dames Seventeenth Century has honored Thomasville Times-Enterprise managing editor Jill Holloway with its Community Service Award for her volunteer work with Thomas County Young Life. At a recent meeting at The Plaza in Thomasville, members also shared the history behind Veterans Day, connecting local service with broader traditions of honoring veterans and community leadership.
