Atlanta City Council Seeks Applicants for Citizen Review Board

Vacant seat one of the first in board history

The Atlanta City Council is looking to fill a vacant seat on the Citizen Review Board, according to an e-mail sent by Councilmember Felicia Moore (District 9).

The Citizen Review Board, a "revamped version of the Civilian Review Board" reviews complaints filed by city of Atlanta residents against any arm of the Atlanta Police Department or corrections department.

Nominations for the vacant seat can be sent to any of the councilmembers. The deadline to send nominations to Moore's office is Thursday, Aug. 1, at 5 p.m.

The person selected will serve a three year term and can serve up to nine years on the board.

This is the one of the first vacancies on the board, according to Virginia-Highland Civic Association chair John Wolfinger.
