Award-Winning Children's Book Author Reads to Morningside Students
Carmen Agra Deedy gave students at Morningside Elementary an exclusive preview of her new book.

It is not every day that elementary students are treated to an exclusive reading from an award-winning author like Carmen Agra Deedy, but that is exactly what happened for a group of Morningside Elementary students.
Last week students at the school were visited by the author who shared her knowledge of storytelling and, "captivated the children with her liveliness, excitement, and animation," according to the APS Blog, Talk Up APS.
Carmen Deedy is finishing her next book which is about WWII. The younger children were, "full of laughter as they followed her hand gestures and repeated her sound effects," said the blog. The older children, who have been recently studying WWI found the reading was timely and, "begged her to read more."
