Emory Appoints New Trustees

UPS executive, Methodist Bishop among new trustees

announced the appointment of two new members to the board of trustees this week.

Teri Plummer McClure, chief legal officer for UPS, and Bishop Mary V. Taylor, resident Bishop of the South Carolina United Methodist Conference, will both serve six-year terms on the board.

McClure, a graduate of the Emory's School of Law, joined the UPS corporate legal department in 1985. Since then, she has served in various legal and operations roles and became general council for the company in 2006.

Taylor, a graduate of Emory’s Candler School of Theology, became the first woman to serve as Resident Bishop of the Columbia Area (South Carolina Annual Conference) in the United Methodist Conference in 2004. She was named Resident Bishop of the South Carolina United Methodist Conference in 2008.

Term trustees are selected by a committee and brought to the full board for approval.
