Each year, Henry W. Grady High School is required to inform you of the Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) of our school. Due to our current circumstance, the Georgia Department of Education has placed our district under a unique designation and has not made a final AYP determination for our schools. As part of this process, we are required to notify all parents of this designation and provide guidance to the website where additional information may be obtained. Below is a statement issued directly from the Georgia Department of Education that explains their position on our current status.
The Governor’s Office of Student Achievement’s erasure analysis of the 2009 CRCT administration flagged schools in Atlanta Public Schools testing irregularities. Accordingly, AYP determinations for Atlanta Public Schools and its individual schools will not be released until the Georgia Department of Education can determine which data are impacted by the investigation findings. You may find out more information about the Governor’s Office of Student Achievement’s erasure analysis and subsequent state investigation here: http://www.gaosa.org

Note: This statement can be found on the GADOE website.
Once we have received final notification from the GA DOE regarding our school’s AYP status, we will provide immediate notification to you. If you have additional questions or concerns, feel free to contact the school at 404-802-3001.
Sincerely,
Dr. Vincent D. Murray
Principal
