Shaky Knees Music Fest at Masquerade This Weekend
Here are five things to know about the week ahead in Virginia Highland and Druid Hills. You can enjoy the Shaky Knees Music Festival, run a special kind of 5K race, hear and discuss poetry, listen to a fundraising recital and celebrate charter schools.

Here are five things to know about this week in and around Virginia Highlandand Druid Hills. For a full list of things to do, look at the Patch calendar of events.
1. Shaky Knees Music Festival. A bunch of bands will play at the Masquerade Music Park, the Old Fourth Ward and other nearby locations this weekend for the Shaky Knees Music Festival on Saturday and Sunday. Check the festival webpage for the lineup. $99 for two-day general admission.
2. The Ribbon Run 5K. Runners will receive a ribbon with the dream of a neighborhood child or family written on it. After the run, runners will tie the ribbon to a giant dreamcatcher behind the finish line. Starts at 8 a.m. Saturday at 635 Angier Ave. NE. $25.

3. What's New in Poetry? Hear and discuss poetry at 8 p.m. Friday at Barnes and Noble at 1380 Oxford Road NE. Free.
4. Fundraising recital. Soprano Megan Mashburn and guests will perform at Morningside Presbyterian Church to raise money for Mashburn to attend opera training programs. The show starts at 5 p.m. Saturday at Morningside Presbyterian Church at 1411 N. Morningside Drive NE. Free, but donations accepted.

5. Charter Schools Rock! This family-friendly event features student performances to showcase Georgia’s public charter schools. 2 p.m. Saturday at Atlnatic Station. Free.
