Since launching in April, the church has given over $3,000 to groups like the Boys and Girls Clubs of Toombs County, including a $700 gift honoring longtime member and former Vidalia Man of the Year Howard Hill.

The college highlights its Career Plus High School Diploma program and more than 90 career-focused offerings that serve learners across Toombs County and surrounding areas.
   

3. Investigation into home invasion of Toombs county elderly woman, search for offender continues (wtoc.com) — Law enforcement is still searching for a man who forced his way into an elderly woman’s home in Uvalda, assaulted her, and fled, prompting a large multi-agency response that included Vidalia Police. Deputies urge Vidalia and Toombs County residents to keep homes, vehicles, and outbuildings locked, and to call 911 immediately if they see anyone matching the suspect’s description.
   

4. 11 GA Hospitals Among Best In U.S. In New Forbes Ranking (patch.com) — Vidalia residents can take pride that Memorial Health Meadows Hospital earned a five-star rating in Forbes’ new 2026 Top Hospitals list, placing it among the best in Georgia and the nation. The ranking is based on outcomes, best practices, value, and patient experience, with Meadows standing alongside 10 other highly rated Georgia hospitals.
