Cobb Fire & Emergency Services Earn International Re-Accreditation

For the third time, Cobb's first responders recently earned re-accreditation status from the Commission on Fire Accreditation International.

WEST COBB, GA -- Cobb County first responders are deserving of major kudos after earning re-accreditation status from the Commission on Fire Accreditation International, the third time that Cobb Fire and Emergency Services has achieved the feat. The accreditation criteria included a voluntary assessment that judged Cobb's standards as it relates to response time, response coverage and master or strategic plan development.

"The department's achievement of accredited agency status demonstrates our commitment to provide the highest level of service to our community," Fire Chief Randy Crider said in a statement. "We have also been able to use the Commission on Fire Accreditation International's process as a proactive mechanism to plan for the future of this agency and locate areas where we can improve on the quality of the services we provide."

This is the second big achievement Cobb first responders have been recognized for in the last six months. In August, Cobb's Fire Insurance Service Rating was upgraded to the highest level, Class 1.
