Cobb School District Will Change Hours For Summer

The Cobb County School District is changing its operating hours beginning next week.

WEST COBB, GA -- The Cobb County School District is changing its hours for more than a month beginning next week. The district will adopt a four-day summer schedule effective Monday, June 5, the district said this week.

The switch will allow the district to conserve energy and save as much as half a million dollars in taxpayer funds, the school system said. The four-day schedule will run through Friday, July 14. District employees will work extended hours Monday through Thursday, with the school system operating between 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Offices will be closed on Fridays through July 14 and July 3-4 for the Fourth of July holiday. Normal operating hours will return on Monday, July 17, the district said.
