Free Movie Series Begins Friday In Cobb

Sunset at the P.A.R.K.S. movie series begins Friday, June 9 at Big Shanty Park in Kennesaw.

WEST COBB, GA -- Families are invited to a little movie fun in the sun this week in Cobb County. The Sunset at the P.A.R.K.S. movie series begins Friday, June 9 with its first screening of the year.

"The Angry Birds Movie" will be shown around 8:45 p.m. at Big Shanty Park at 2050 Kennesaw Due West Road NW, Kennesaw, the county announced this week. Attendees can enjoy food, music and other activities as the festivities begin at 6:30 p.m. Visitors are encouraged to bring their lawn chair and even pack some goodies in a picnic basket if they like. The movies are being presented by Cobb PARKS and Kaiser Permanente, who have partnered on the summer series.

If "Angry Birds" aren't your thing, don't miss other films in the series, including Dreamworks' "Trolls" on June 23 at Fair Oaks Park, "The Secret Life of Pets" June 30 at The Art Place, "The Jungle Book" July 7 at Lost Mountain Park and Disney Pixar's "Finding Dory" July 21 at Seven Springs Water Park.
