Make a Valentine's Day Sweater
This Free-People inspired look can be copied in less than an hour.

For a festive take that isn’t too cutesy (think plastic hearts glued to a sweatshirt), try this hand-embroidered sweater that takes less than an hour to complete.
We got the idea from the Country Living website and copied it almost exactly—for less than $10!
The sweater was on $7 clearance at JC Penney. The iron-on patches were $1.50 and the thread was $1, both at .

To get this look:
1. Put on the sweater and mark where your elbows hit.

2. Cut two hearts (ours were about 3 inches, but I have little arms.)
3. Iron them onto the places you marked.
4. Blanket stitch around the patches. To avoid sewing your sleeves together, use a can—I used bathroom cleaner—in the sleeve to hold it open.Â
