Powder Springs Man Guilty of Rape
The incidents against four young girls date back as far as 2000.

A Powder Springs man has been convicted of rape, incest, aggravated child molestation and other charges, the spokeswoman for the Cobb County District Attorney's Office announced this afternoon.
David Allen Heath Jr., 32, was found guilty today of one count of rape; six counts of child molestation; two counts of aggravated child molestation; two counts of incest; two counts of statutory rape; and two counts of enticing a child for indecent purposes.
The incidents against four young girls date back as far as 2000, said Kim Isaza, the spokeswoman for Cobb District Attorney Vic Reynolds.

“This defendant built a trust with all of these children, and turned that trust against them in the worst way possible,” said Assistant District Attorney Chuck Boring, the lead prosecutor in the case. “The victims in this case will be forever changed by the violation they suffered at the hands of David Heath Jr., but hopefully this conviction will bring some sense of closure to that part of their lives. Now that the jury has held him accountable for his terrible acts, I anticipate that he will never again have the chance to harm another child.”
Heath faces life in prison without the possibility of parole. A sentencing date has not been scheduled.

Heath is currently serving time in state prison for drug, theft and other previous convictions in Cobb County.
