Rue 21 Is Closing These 12 Stores In Georgia

Rue 21 announced Monday that it is closing 400 stores nationwide. Of Georgia's 62 Rue 21 stores, these 12 are closing.

WEST COBB, GA -- Department store Rue 21 announced Monday that it is closing 400 stores across the nation to concentrate on its digital operations.

The move means the Cranberry, Pa., clothing store will shutter more than half of its 700 stores nationwide, including 12 locations in Georgia and metro Atlanta.

The privately held company caters to young girls, selling clothes and beauty accessories in malls and shopping centers in 48 states.

In a Facebook post this weekend, the company said " It was a difficult but necessary decision. We still have hundreds of locations across the country, and our website rue21.com, open for business."

  • BARTOW MARKETPLACE - CARTERSVILLE
  • CORDELE SQUARE - CORDELE
  • COLUMBUS PARK CROSSING - COLUMBUS
  • MULLINS CROSSING - EVANS
  • TOWN CENTER AT COBB - KENNESAW
  • MILLEDGEVILLE MALL - MILLEDGEVILLE
  • THE OVERLOOK - PEACHTREE CITY
  • RINCON SOUTH SHOPPING CENTER - RINCON
  • SAVANNAH MALL - SAVANNAH

The company has yet to disclose the exact dates the closing stores will shut their doors.
