Trump Visit To Cobb May Cause Traffic Delays, School Officials Say

Former President Donald Trump is also scheduled to hold a rally Monday in Midtown.

WEST COBB, GA โ€” Former President Donald Trump's visit to West Cobb on Monday could cause traffic delays, school officials said in an alert to families.

Trump, who is reportedly slated to also visit Midtown on Monday, has been busy on the campaign trail with his vice president pick, J.D. Vance, this election season. The two are on the Republican ticket.

The former president's opponent, current Vice President and Democrat Kamala Harris, has also made visits to Georgia.

Trump is scheduled to speak at the National Faith Advisory Board's Inaugural National Faith Summit, according to the board's website. Several other former senior White House officials will be at the event, which will begin at 3 p.m., the board said.

This will be ahead of his rally at the Georgia Institute of Technology's McCamish Pavillion, according to his campaign website. Doors open for the Midtown rally at 2 p.m., and the event will start at 6 p.m.

Cobb County School officials said they learned of Trump's appearance Monday morning. They added Trump is expected to arrive in West Cobb in the afternoon.

"While there will not be a change to dismissal or after-school activities, please plan accordingly," school officials said.

They noted they are in communication with the agencies supporting Trump's event.

According to officials, traffic delays may impact student drivers and buses throughout the area.

Cobb Transportation could potentially provide traffic advisories, which school officials said would be found on the transportation department's communication platforms.
