• Carter introduces bill awarding Congressional Gold Medal to the fallen patriots of Thiokol (house.gov) — Woodbine’s Thiokol workers may soon receive national recognition, as Rep. Buddy Carter has introduced a bill to award a Congressional Gold Medal to the Thiokol Memorial Museum honoring 30 employees killed in explosions at the Woodbine plant. The legislation, backed by bipartisan Georgia co-sponsors, would formally commemorate the sacrifice of many local residents and their families during Vietnam War-era munitions production.
