3-Alarm Woodstock Blaze Injures Firefighter After Collapse
Several animals were saved during the Brooke Mill apartment complex fire, officials said.

WOODSTOCK, GA — A firefighter was injured, and several animals were rescued, during a three-alarm blaze Sunday at a Brooke Mill apartment complex, fire officials said Monday.
The fire happened around 11 a.m. and shut down Downsby lane near Addison Way for about four hours, Cherokee County Fire and Emergency Services said. Woodstock Fire and Rescue also responded to the scene.
When crews arrived, they saw flames and smoke coming from the roof and multiple apartments, fire officials said.

While no one was found inside of the 30-unit building, several animals were located and removed, fire officials said.
A firefighter suffered minor injuries from a collapse, fire officials said. The status of the firefighter's injury was not immediately available.

The American Red Cross assisted families impacted by the fire, officials said. The cause of the fire is being investigated.
