Cobb EMC Hosts Boston Elementary Chorus

Cobb EMC hosted the chorus ensemble. A group of 40 fourth graders helped spread holiday cheer to Cobb EMC employees on their morning break. They sang Christmas songs, such as “Sing We Now of Christmas.”

After the performance, the students got the opportunity to meet the Grinch, Santa Claus, Mrs. Clause and Santa's elves. Cobb EMC treated students and audience to hot cider, punch, cookies and candy canes.

Clair Burns, Boston Elementary chorus teacher, also accepted a mini grant on behalf of the school. The mini grant will be used for a program called “Make Me a Mathematician.” This project is designed to improve students' proficiency with fundamental math facts and concepts.

Sam Kelly, Sr. Vice President of Public Relations, said “Having the Boston Elementary Chorus singing seasonal favorites for the employees at Cobb EMC is always a highlight during the Christmas season.”

Cobb EMC has a long-standing commitment to the Partners in Education program. Boston Elementary School and Cobb EMC have worked together since 1989. Activities such as mentoring, career day, red ribbon week sponsorships and Electric Avenue safety demonstrations are just some of the ways Cobb EMC helps students get excited about learning.
