WOODSTOCK, GA — There was no evidence of a bomb after a threat was made against River Ridge High School Tuesday but charges are forthcoming, Cherokee County school officials told parents in an afternoon message.
School officials told Patch earlier Tuesday there were no injuries.
Multiple K-9 units swept the campus, and because no evidence of a bomb was found, school will be open as normal Wednesday, school officials said.

Parents were first notified of the threat at 11:15 a.m., when School Superintendent Dr. Brian Hightower ordered an immediate emergency evacuation. The students were taken to a nearby stadium and the Mill Creek Middle School gymnasium while authorities swept the campus, school officials said.
Students were dismissed early around 11:45 a.m., and River Ridge's after-school activities were canceled. Mill Creek Middle's after-school activities were not canceled.
"The investigation into the threat is continuing, and we plan to file both criminal charges and school disciplinary action against those involved. Making threats is not a joke. We take all threats to the safety and security of our students, staff and schools very seriously," school officials said in a message to parets.
The school system asked anyone with information to call the school district police department at (770) 704-4354 or make a report through the school district's Vector Alert system.
