Businesses Seek Naming Rights with Amphitheater
The Woodstock City Council will meet tonight at 7 in the Chambers at City Center.

Three local companies want their name associated with the much-anticipated amphitheater being built in Downtown Woodstock.
The received three proposals after a two-month drive for requests from regional businesses with the intention to create a partnership with a local corporation and the City of Woodstock for the public outdoor facility. The proposals will be presented at tonight’s City Council meeting at the Chambers at City Center starting at 7.
The three businesses along with their proposed fees and contract terms and conditions are as follows:

1. Amphitheater
- Proposed Fee: $275,000 to be paid in increments of $25,000 in 2012 and $50,000 in 2013 to 2017
- Contract Term: 6 Years

- Proposed Fee: $200,000 to be paid starting at $30,000 for the first year and increasing by $5,000 every year for the five-year contract
- Each year's contract includes a Gold Level Concert Series Sponsorship of $7,500 and Presenting/Title Sponsorship for the July 4 and Christmas events of $12,000
- Contract Term: 5 Years
3. Amphitheater
- Proposed Fee: $300,000 to be paid in increments of $60,000 for the first five years of the contract term
- Contract Term: 10 Years
There will be a Town Hall meeting Feb. 16 at 7 p.m. where residents are able to discuss the upcoming amphitheater. At the Nov. 28 City Council meeting, the mayor altered the 2012 Town Hall meeting policies to be all-inclusive instead of Ward-based. The meetings will now be centered on topics with a council member sponsoring each one.
Also on the agenda for tonight, the newly elected City Council members will be sworn in. at Ward 4 while Chris Casdia, Ward 2, and Tessa Basford, Ward 6, will remain in their respective positions.
