  1. The Cherokee County School District announced the Mill Creek Middle School 2022 Partner of the Year, Nothing Bundt Cakes in Woodstock. In 2022, Nothing Bundt Cakes provided incentives, discounts and fundraising opportunities to Mill Creek. (CCSD via Facebook)
  2. An Etowah High School student earned national honors through the 2021-2022 National PTA Reflections fine arts contest. The competition receives original art from students in many forms, including dance, literature, music composition, photography and other fine arts concentrations. Ryan Weber was named the overall state winner in the photography category, and he was one of only nine honorees from Georgia. (CCSD via Facebook)
  3. The Woodstock Citizens' Public Safety Academy will be starting up on September 8 at 6:30 p.m. Applications are being accepted until September 6 for the series of classes, and the academy will be held every Thursday through November 17. With the goal of bringing citizens and public safety organizations together, classes will include criminal investigation procedures, patrol operations, fire safety and more.   • Today is the last day to catch "James and the Giant Peach" at Woodstock Arts. (10 a.m.)
  • "Stuffed Animal Picnic Storytime and Sleepover" is happening at R.T. Jones Memorial Library in Canton. Bring your favorite stuffed animal with you to enjoy the picnic, storytime, dancing and more. Afterwards you can leave your stuffed animal with Miss Madison so they can enjoy a sleepover at the library. The event is for all ages, children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult, and you may bring your own food and blanket. (noon)
  • Harry Potter trivia is at Reformation Brewery Woodstock tonight. The event will feature themed drinks, a costume contest and more. (7 p.m.)
  • "Sushi & Sake with Chef Sunisa" is a hands-on class at the Leaning Ladder on Main Street (7 p.m.)
  • Wyatt Espalin will be performing at J Michael's Prime in Canton (7 p.m.)
  • On the MadLife Grill patio stage:
    • Danielle McLean (noon)
    • Top Artists - Extended Sets (6 p.m.)
  • At MadLife Stage & Studios:

  • The last back-to-school health clinic will be held on August 2 at the Canton and Woodstock Health Centers. The clinics offer hearing, dental, vision and nutrition screenings, as well as school-required immunizations. Screenings are $60 and immunizations are $21.90 for each underinsured or uninsured child. The clinics also accept insurance. (North Georgia Health District)
