Light Snow, Freezing Rain In GA Weekend Weather Forecast
North Georgia may not be done with winter weather as the potential for light snow and freezing rain could return this weekend.
NORTH GEORGIA — North Georgia could see another round of winter weather this weekend according to the National Weather Service.
A special weather statement issued Wednesday morning says that rain on Thursday night may change to light snow and light freezing rain through Saturday morning.
Precipitation associated with a slow moving cold front may fall in the form of light snow or light freezing rain, the NWS said.

There is still uncertainty on how much and where any snow or ice accumulations may happen. But based on recent information, the NWS said there is indication that northeast Georgia is the most likely area to receive light snow accumulations Friday and Friday night. Parts of middle and east central Georgia are most likely to see light ice accumulation on Friday night.
The overall amounts may be slightly lower than projected earlier. However, overall confidence is low. That isn't to say that residents and emergency officials should remain alert and be prepared for possible snow and/or ice accumulations, especially over parts of middle and east central Georgia.

Even small amounts of ice can cause significant impacts including slick roads and power outages due to icing on trees and power lines.
