Cherokee County Firefighter Retires After 23 Years of Service

Cherokee County firefighter, Sgt. Steve Holley was recognized with a "bugle" award following 23 years of service.

From Cherokee County Fire: Cherokee County firefighter, Sgt. Steve Holley, was recognized today due to his upcoming retirement from the fire department.

Cherokee County Fire Chief, Tim Prather, thanked Holley for his 23 years of service to the citizens of Cherokee County and presented him with a “bugle” award. The bugle or speaking trumpet is a reference to a megaphone like device that was used in the early days of the fire service. Several Cherokee County firefighters and former Cherokee County Fire Chief, Bob Nealey, were also on hand to give their best wishes to Holley.

Holley began his career with Cherokee County Fire and Emergency Services on April 7th, 1994. He was promoted to the rank of Sergeant on January 6 th , 2002. Steve and his wife, Carrie, reside in Milton, Georgia with their children. We wish Steve many happy years of retirement!
