  1. The Cherokee County School District (CCSD) has named Menchie's Frozen Yogurt-Riverstone a 2022 Creekview High School Partner of the Year. Every Thursday, Creekview HS students can purchase Menchie's in the lunchroom, and the booth is often run by Special Education teachers and students. (CCSD Press Release)
  2. The First Baptist Church of Woodstock is holding a mobile food pantry for those in need in our area. From 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., the food pantry will be at the church's Family Life Center at 2473 Coldwater Road. An ID must be provided to show residency. (11 a.m.)
  3. The Canton Police Department posted on Facebook to remind us of the Move-Over Law. The law states that drivers must move over for emergency vehicles stopped on the side of the road. On the highway, you should move over one lane when you encounter stopped emergency vehicles. If traffic is too heavy to do so, you must slow down below the speed limit. (Canton PD via Facebook)
  4. Today is the last day to ensure a shirt for the Multicultural Festival 5K coming up on September 10. The festival will take place at Etowah River Park on Brown Industrial Parkway, with the race starting at 9 a.m. The festival is free and will include music and food from all over the world.   5. The Cherokee County Aquatic Center is closing out the swim season with "Paws in the Pool" on September 11. Bring your pup over to enjoy the Oasis during the small dog or large dog swim times. Dogs must have proof of current vaccinations (distemper, parvo and rabies) and must be spayed or neutered. There is a limit of two dogs per owner and owners may not swim with the dogs.   • The Woodstock Fire Department is holding a "SKILLS - First Aid" class on September 15 to teach emergency, life-saving care. A certificate will be given at the end of the class.
