Drunken Driver Hits Deputy
Cherokee County Sheriff's Office deputy suffered injuries to his face, neck, back and ankle.
reminds drivers not to not drink and drive during the holiday season as one of their own was injured Friday night by a suspected drunken driver.
Sgt. John New was rear ended by Cody Carlisle, 23, of Woodstock at an intersection on Bells Ferry Road near Eagle Drive as he sat waiting for a green light, said Lt. Jay Baker of the Cherokee Sheriff's Office.
New was taken to where he was treated for injuries to his face, neck, back and ankle. He has since been released, Baker said.

Carlisle was arrested by the Georgia State Patrol and charged with driving under the influence and following too close. He was released from jail on a $1,620 bond.
