This year marks the 40th anniversary of Cobb EMC’s participation in the Washington Youth Tour, Georgia’s oldest leadership program for teens. The program is sponsored by 37 of Georgia’s electric co-ops, including Cobb EMC, and was inspired by President Lyndon Johnson who encouraged electric cooperatives to “send youngsters to the nation’s capital where they can actually see what the flag stands for and represents.”
