- Cherokee County Senior Services is participating in the Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's to raise funds for care, support and research into the disease. The walk will take place Saturday, October 29, at Etowah River Park in Canton. The opening ceremony starts at 9 a.m., the link to join the Cherokee Senior Services team is still active, you can do that here. If you'd like to donate to the cause, you can do so via the same link, and if you'd like to cheer the teams on, head on down to the park on Saturday. - Kennesaw State University's MEBUS program was ranked by Billboard magazine as one of the top music business programs in the world, this is their fourth time making it onto the list. Kennesaw State's Joel A. Katz Music and Entertainment Business (MEBUS) program helps ready students for careers in film, television, audio production, and artist, venue, live event management and entertainment entrepreneurship and gives students real-world experience in the field. The most recent MEBUS Mixer event held at Woodstock's MadLife Stage & Studios featured 25 student performances held in front of 250 guests, and MEBUS students planned, managed and executed the event. Mentorship is an integral part of the university's program, and Steven Morrison, MadLife's production manager and chief engineer, is among the mentors that teach and guide KSU students through the program.
