  1. New equipment has been added to the Cherokee County Fire & Emergency Services aerial apparatus. The new equipment will aid with vehicle extrication, machinery incidents and operations involving lifting and stabilizing large, heavy objects. The Paratech equipment will eventually be placed on all aerial trucks. (Cherokee County Fire & Emergency Services)
  2. The Cherokee County School District Superintendent Dr. Brian V. Hightower was honored by the Cherokee County Chamber of Commerce President Pam Carnes with the 2022 Superintendent's Game Changer Award for Instructional Advocacy. The award celebrates those business leaders in the community that have supported the school district. Carnes has helped the district through programs like Partners in Education and Teen Leadership Cherokee. Congratulations! (CCSD Press Release)
  3. The Cherokee County School Board has been recognized for "exemplary leadership and innovative practices in its stakeholder communications." The Leading Edge Award for this year is in the Communication category, but for the past three years, the School Board received the award in the Culture, Climate & Organizational Efficacy.category.   • Perler Bead Ornaments: for ages 9 and up, though children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. All materials will be provided so you can make an ornament at the R.T. Jones Memorial Library, 116 Brown Industrial Parkway, Canton. (4:30 - 6:30 p.m.)
  • 'Tis the Season ROCKS: Paint some rocks to distribute around Woodstock. This time around it'll be holiday themed. All supplies will be provided, please register here for the free craft session on the Gazebo at the Park at City Center, 101 Arnold Mill Road. (6 - 7 p.m.)
  • Hot Vinyasa: all levels are welcome, though some prior experience is helpful to the class held at Ember Hot Yoga, 330 Chambers Street. (6:30 - 7:45 p.m.)
  • Veterans Meetup: for local veterans. Conversation, community and beer every first Monday of the month at Reformation Brewery, 105 Elm Street. (6 - 8 p.m.)
  • DJ Bingo: test your musical knowledge and win prizes every Monday at Woodstock Beer Market, 240 Chambers Street. (7 - 9 p.m.)
  • DJ Trivia: the top three teams win cash prizes, every Monday at Guston's Grille, 12195 Highway 92, Suite 156. (7:30 - 10:30 p.m.)
