Here are the top four stories in Woodstock-Towne Lake today:
- Woodstock received about six inches of rain over the weekend and into Monday. This rainfall is hoped to release us from the moderate drought classification assigned to Cherokee County via the Drought Monitor on July 7. (11Alive.com WXIA)
- Governor Kemp's state gas tax suspension, combined with falling crude oil prices, is bringing some much-needed relief to Georgia drivers' pockets. Currently, gas prices are at $4.25 per gallon in Cherokee County and $4.68 nationwide. (Cherokee Tribune & Ledger News)
- The 2022 Resurfacing Project started up Monday, with plans in place to resurface portions of Arnold Mill Road and Hickory Road. Traffic may be impacted in those areas starting at 8 a.m. daily, Monday through Friday. (Cherokee County Communications Division)
- Cherokee County schools will be open for normal business, including new student registration, starting July 18. School supply lists can already be found online and class schedules will be provided at each school's walk-through events scheduled for July 28 and 29. (Cherokee County School District via Facebook)
