- The funeral procession for Cobb County Deputy Jonathan Randall Koleski will be going through the area on I-575N between 1:45 - 2 p.m. today. The route exits I-575N at exit 16 and goes west from there to the Georgia National Cemetery via Knox Bridge. There may be over a thousand vehicles in the procession, expect long delays in the area. - The Woodstock Parks and Recreation Director Michael Huffstetler will be stepping away from his position "to pursue other opportunities." The director's separation agreement was approved by the Woodstock City Council on Monday, but he will stay in place for about two more months. Several other items were voted on and approved during the meeting, including the purchase and installation of a single-stall bathroom at Dupree Park and the funding for site preparation, landscaping and a paved entryway for the park. - The zoning for Vision Warriors, a faith-based addiction recovery center for men, has been revoked by Cherokee County. The nonprofit started its Woodstock housing facility operation in 2017, but by 2018 had already been ordered to shut down based on an error in issuance of the original zoning certification. A legal nonprofit helped the company bring the case to the federal courts, claiming discrimination, but the case was decided in the county's favor. Vision Warriors has now brought its case before the appellate court and is awaiting a hearing date. (11 Alive)
- The Georgia Firefighters Burn Foundation received a donation of over $5,000 from the residents of the Heron Pond subdivision. The subdivision raises funds and donates to the foundation every year. The Georgia Firefighters Burn Foundation's mission is to "partner with the fire service and burn care community to provide fire safety and prevention education, support medical facilities and assist burn survivors in their recovery."
