Sunday Alcohol Sales Gets Final Nod
The commissioners formally passed a resolution to put Sunday alcohol sales on a ballot.
There is a light agenda tonight after weeks of public hearings on a millage rate increase and Sunday alcohol sales.
A new law allows municipalities to vote on whether or not to have alcohol sales on Sunday. The board already agreed to put the issue on the November ballot. Tonight the board voted on a formal resolution to do so. They have been waiting on the school system to decide whether it was having a special election in November for additional SPLOST monies.
County Manager Jerry Cooper asked the board, and it approved, a design and build contract to Gay Construction Company for the renovation and expansion of the Cherokee County Senior Center for $212,000.
