  1. Georgia native Emma Hunt competed in the World Games in Birmingham, Alabama, earlier this month finishing in first place overall in speed climbing. Earlier this year, Emma placed second in both the Seoul and Salt Lake City events in May. Emma found her love of climbing here in Woodstock at the age of five. Aiming for the 2024 Olympic Games, she is spending her time training and attending Kennesaw State University. (TeamUSA.org)
  2. MUST Ministries has partnered with Ashley Furniture to provide furniture and home accessories for homeless families moving into new housing programs in Paulding and Cherokee counties. The donated furnishings will be used in homes being offered as part of MUST Ministries' Permanent Supportive Housing Program. (PR Newswire)
  3. Morgan Hill, of Hill & Hill Financial, has laid out very important points in the practice of financial management for the aging population. Cognitive impairment, Hill advises, can bring about the sometimes uncomfortable but necessary task of cementing financial plans as soon as possible. Among his points are the need for a power of attorney to be put in place, creating plans for medical care and having letters drawn out to clearly state your wishes. (Investor's Business Daily)
  4. Woodstock is growing, population is up and there are more and more bicyclists on the road. While enjoying everything our area has to offer, it is extremely important for drivers and cyclists to know the laws and good practices to keep us all safe. Some laws to keep in mind are the use of safety equipment and lights while riding, reflector requirements and observing all traffic laws. Lets all do our part to keep our citizens safe.
