Man Fell Asleep In Car He Was Looting: Cops
The 23-year-old man stole from 8 vehicles before falling asleep in the final vehicle overnight Tuesday, the Cherokee Sheriff's Office said.

ACWORTH, GA — Cherokee sheriff's deputies arrested a man Tuesday on charges he entered several vehicles before he was found dozing inside one of the cars he targeted in the Acworth area, the Sheriff's Office said.
Deputies with the Cherokee Sheriff's Office were dispatched around 6:30 a.m. Sept. 25 to a call of an unknown person stealing from vehicles in the Tyson Woods subdivision, which is located off Bells Ferry Road north of Highway 92.
A sheriff's deputy canvassing the neighborhood found a man sleeping in a vehicle in front of a home in the subdivision. The deputy reached out to the homeowner, who said the sleeping person "did not have permission to be in the vehicle," Sheriff's Office spokesperson Jay Baker said.

The man, identified as 23-year-old Timothy Zacharie of Acworth, allegedly had on his person credit cards, cash, gift cards and identity cards of other residents in the subdivision, Baker said.
"Deputies determined Zacharie entered the unlocked vehicles of approximately eight residents before falling asleep in the final vehicle," he added.

Baker told Patch there is no indication that Zacharie had a medical condition that caused him to fall asleep in one of the vehicles.
Zacharie is charged with eight counts of entering auto, one count of burglary and probation violation. He remains held without bond at the Cherokee County Adult Detention Center, Baker said.
