UPDATE: No Charges in Meth Case

UPDATE:

It is unlikely the meth lab dismantled last night at 200 Eagle View Trace in Woodstock ever successfully generated methamphetamine. No charges will be filed in the investigation, said Lt. Jay Baker with the sheriff's department.

Cherokee Sheriff’s deputies were called to the location after the homeowner, who had been out of state for an undisclosed amount of time, returned to the home and called 911 after becoming suspicious something was going on.

Agents from the Cherokee Multi-Agency Narcotics Squad responded to the scene. After further analysis of the items taken from the garage of the home, agents determined the suspects were trying to make methamphetamine using a method called the “Gun Bluing Pickle Jar” method.

The method is commonly discussed in internet forums and is actually an urban myth. Although the suspect’s likely thought they could produce methamphetamine and actually had some of the items required to make the drug, it would have been impossible for them to produce methamphetamine.

There was no ephedrine, a required ingredient to methamphetamine, located at the home.

A meth lab in Woodstock has been successfully disassembled on Eagle View Trace, according to 11 Alive. 

Sheriff's deputies responded to the home after the owner, who had been subletting to her husband, spotted some suspicious items in the house and called 911. 

Those items included brake fluid and acetone along with a piece of equipment designed to extract meth from the chemicals, Sheriff's Lt. Jay Baker told WSB Radio.

The Cherokee Narcotics Units responded to the house and confirmed that the items were "supportive of a meth lab operation."  

No arrests have been made; however, police expect multiple arrests in the near future.
