Michael Caldwell Appointed To Board Of Directors Of The GTA

Caldwell was formerly the youngest state legislator in the United States and served for eight years in the Georgia House of Representatives.

WOODSTOCK, GA — Governor Brian P. Kemp has selected Woodstock resident, managing partner and owner of Black Airplane, as well as retiring Georgia State Rep. Michael Caldwell to serve on the Board of Directors of the Georgia Technology Authority.

The Georgia Technology Authority Board of Directors plays an active role in setting policies that influence the state’s use of technology.

GTA’s vision is a transparent, integrated enterprise in which technology decisions are made with the citizen in mind. The Authority works to deliver reliable technology services to state and local government agencies and to provide technology leadership for sound IT enterprise management.

“I am grateful for Governor Kemp’s trust, and I look forward to combining my private sector and public sector experiences to make sure Georgia continues our path toward technology leadership,” said Caldwell.

Caldwell is an owner and Managing Partner at Black Airplane, a full-stack digital product agency. He was formerly the youngest state legislator in the United States and served for eight years in the Georgia House of Representatives.

He was a member of the founding team of Python Safety, which was successfully acquired by 3M. As part of the founding team of the North Atlanta Venture Mentoring Service, he helped launch the first MIT modeled mentoring service for entrepreneurs in Georgia.

Caldwell earned his degree in Finance from Kennesaw State University in less than three years. He and his wife, Katie, have two children and live in Woodstock.
