Here are the top three stories in Woodstock-Towne Lake today:

  1. In a heartbreaking update, Laura Ann Linden, a woman missing from Cherokee County, was found deceased. Linden had been missing since February 11, when she failed to arrive at a dinner party near her home on Lake Arrowhead. After receiving a call on Tuesday evening advising that a car may have entered the lake, responding officers found no visible vehicles. However, they did see evidence that led them to believe that the information received was accurate. A search of the lake revealed the missing vehicle with Linden inside. The case is active, but there is no indication of foul play. (WSB-Atlanta)
  2. Palmetto Moon, a clothing and gift store chain based in Charleston, is set to open its 38th location in the Southeast. Already in the metro area, the Woodstock store has been at the Outlet Shoppes of Atlanta since 2018. It will be holding a grand opening at the new Canton location on March 4, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The celebration will include many promotions and giveaways to include hourly grand prizes until 2 p.m., door prizes, live music by Alec Roeser and more. The Canton location is 1810 Cumming Highway, Suite 825. (Subscription: Cherokee Tribune & Ledger-News)
  3. Four students from E.T. Booth Middle School will be competing at the upcoming Georgia Science and Engineering Fair at the University of Georgia in March. Aside from placing and advancing forward, the four students received awards and gift cards from sponsors Cobb EMC, Gas South and the Cherokee County Water and Sewerage Authority (CCWSA). The winning projects included a dive into "Infrared Water Purification" and a study on "How Different Types of Oils Affect Different Hair Types." Congratulations!
