Murder Suspect Arrested In Teen's Shooting Death At Cherokee Party

A 22-year-old man is facing gang and murder charges after a 14-year-old boy was fatally shot during a Cherokee house party, authorities say.

WOODSTOCK, GA — A murder suspect has been arrested in connection with the October 2021 shooting death of a 14-year-old boy, the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office said Monday.

Authorities said they arrested Jaden Simmons, a 22-year-old Mableton resident, in connection with the fatal shooting of Landon Andrews.

Andrews was shot and killed on Oct. 17, 2021 during a large house party at a Victoria Road home near Lake Allatoona, authorities said.

At the time, no one shared information regarding the suspected gunman; however, authorities said they recently received new details that led them to a murder suspect. A motive for the shooting has not been released.

Simmons was arrested Sunday and was charged on suspicion of murder, aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, first-degree cruelty to children and violation of the Street Gang Terrorism Act, authorities said. Simmons is being held in the Cherokee Adult Detention Center without bond, authorities said.
